In 2024, The Island Men Scholarship Fund was formed as a separate 501(c)(3) entity of The Island Men, Inc. Its purpose is to promote and support learning, knowledge, and educational opportunities for individuals through fundraising activities. Its primary objectives include creating an endowment to provide perpetual funds for scholarships to students, access to educational resources, tools, and fostering academic and vocational development to empower individuals through educational opportunities. All contributions to the fund are used exclusively for scholarships.
In 2026, The Island Men Scholarship Fund will fund at least five $2,500 scholarships to successful applicants to attend the community college, trade school or university of their choice.
Formed in 2014, The Island Men’s mission as a 501(C)(3) volunteer organization is to raise money that supports local charities and strengthens our community through the participation in local civic, educational, and athletic activities that enhance the quality of life in our community. We host many fun and entertaining annual events to raise money that we distribute to the local charities and children’s activities. Those events include: The Pleasure Island Needs Talent talent show, The Carolina Beach Dragon Boat Regatta, The Pleasure Island Mac & Cheese Festival, The Backyard BBQ Cook Off, The Island Men Scholarship Golf Tournament and the now famous Halloween Golf Cart Extravaganza.
